V & M Mineração (former Mannesmann Mineração S/A) was established in 1955 with the aim to supply the need for iron ore of the Barreiro  Plant – which was then Companhia Siderúrgica Mannesmann, and today is V & M do BRASIL. Since the year 2000, V & M Mineração has been part of Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes Group.

Located in Serra da Moeda, municipality of Brumadinho, distant only 30 km from Belo Horizonte, capital city of the Brazilian Southeastern State of  Minas Gerais, the mining plant generates some 750 direct and indirect jobs, and boasts enough capacity  to produce 4 million tons of iron ore annually.

In addition to its focus on supplying iron ore to V & M do BRASIL, V & M MINERAÇÃO has a client portfolio that includes a number of companies from the steel, pig-iron and ferroalloy sectors, as well as other mining companies. 

Products

The ore extracted from the Pau Branco Mine is one of the world’s richest as far as iron grade is concerned, for the site enjoys a privileged location in Serra da Moeda, part of the renowned Quadrilátero Ferrífero (literally meaning ‘iron quadrangle’) of Minas Gerais. There, the company extracts and processes three different types of iron ores: Hematite, Goethite and Itabirite.
